Dino Day September 15, noon-4:00pm |
The return of everyone’s favorite Dinosaur Day returns on Saturday, September 15 from noon until 4:00pm. Stomp and chomp your way through special activities designed to inspire budding paleontologists. Learn about carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. Discover what fossils can tell us about these prehistoric creatures and learn more about their habitats. It's sure to be a roaring good time! |

Fall Hours |
Seems like it was just Memorial Day and now Labor Day is on the horizon. As always, the unofficial end of summer marks MSC’s return to fall hours and our annual maintenance week. The Science Center will be CLOSED September 4 through 7 and return to fall hours on Saturday, September 8.

Stars & Strings |
September 28 7:00pm - 9:00pm |
As Summer gives way to cooler fall evenings and clear skies, the nights are perfect for viewing in our rooftop observatory. To celebrate, we’ve added a string quartet and adult beverages! Join us on Friday, September 28 for Stars and Strings—a unique rooftop event. Sip cocktails and mingle with fellow stargazers under the tent on our rooftop perch and grab a glimpse of the planets and the stars through the giant telescope in our observatory. MSC staffers will be on hand to guide you through the night sky and point out interesting sights. Reservations are required. |

September Storybook Science |
Each month MSC educators and programmers design the on-floor experience with a specific theme in mind. In September, Storybook Science takes to the floors. Explore wizardry, spider webs, housing construction and more (can you guess which books we’re talking about?). Activities range from live shows to cool experiments to hands-on make-and-takes that happen throughout the building including The Kids Room and The Shed. |

Brunch is Back! |
September 9 & 23 10:00am - 1:00pm |
We’re squeezing in a few more Brunch With a View dates to take advantage of the fall weather. Brunch With a View takes place high above our waterfront setting overlooking the promenade under the cover of our rooftop tent. Your reservation includes all the delicious brunch menu items along with bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas. The next dates available are September 9 and 23. These will sell out so reserve your table today. |

September is Homeschool Month |
A limited number of spots are still available in select homeschool programs for the upcoming annual September Homeschool Month. Choose from classroom programs, enrichment experiences, planetarium shows, and giant screen films. Classes are led by members of the MSC Education Department and are age-specific. There are a wide range of topics designed to match specific areas of study. Reservations are required. |

Super Science Sleepover: Academy of Wizardry |
September 21 & 22 5:30pm - 9:00am |
Learn the science behind the magic and go back to school wizard-style. Test your green thumb in herbology and become a potions master as you mix up crazy concoctions. Get sorted into your science house and use your wizarding skills to fly through a maze to defeat the dragon. And then when it's time to say lights out...sleep in the exhibit halls! |

Let’s Take a Field Trip—For Free! |

MSC’s comprehensive online field trip guide—Opportunities— is now available on our website. The publication includes everything you need to book an educational, informative, and fun, field trip for your class or the whole school. And the best part is that all Maryland schools visit FREE. Too far to travel for a field trip? The Traveling Science Program will come to you. TSP Staffers deliver a variety of programs from small classroom experiences to full on assembly programs on a variety of science topics. |
